Last Friday, 60 Kilbreda students from all year levels, formed 9 teams to participate in the 2024 Write a Book in a Day Competition at the Kilbreda Library. As well as being able to win prizes for writing and illustrating a book, the students have contributed to the Kid’s Cancer Project, both in funds raised and the contribution of their books for children to enjoy while undergoing cancer treatment.

With only the word count and a few compulsory characters and words (the parameters) to guide them, the students set off in their groups to create their fully illustrated, unique stories.

The enthusiasm and creative energy from the students was palpable, especially the ‘burst’ of excitement and anticipation when the students received their parameters followed by the ‘buzz’ of the teams working hard in such a fun and productive atmosphere.
