What a spectacular weekend it was for past pupil and Kilbreda College Music Tutor, Samantha Hargreaves (Class of 2015). On Saturday evening she performed at the 2022 ACCLAIM Italian Opera Final and won an ‘Acclaim Ambassadorial Scholarship’. This scholarship will support six months of Italian language tutoring, vocal coaching with Michelle Cook and gives Sam the potential to study in Italy with Italian soprano, Valeria Esposito. Following up on Sunday, she performed at the Herald Sun Aria Competition, where she is pictured in these spectacular images! Whilst the main prize was awarded in Sam’s words “to the otherworldly Coloratura King, Austin Haynes”, she was awarded the ‘John Fulford Prize’. This $10,000 prize is in memory of Baritone, John Fulford, who was described as “a rare performer who could establish instant contact with an audience whether it be three people, or thousands.” Samantha is incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported her. We cannot wait to see what happens next as she continues to share her magnificent talent with the world!
