Year 10

Courage allows the successful person to fail – and to learn powerful lessons from the failure – so that in the end, they did not fail at all. Maya Angelou

It has been an extremely busy few weeks for our Year 10 students as they prepared for and participated in their first series of examinations for 2024. These examinations are designed to provide our students with the opportunity to test their knowledge with their subject areas, and most importantly, experience how VCE examinations are conducted. This allows our students to apply different forms of study skills and create positive routines, as well as developing their time management and other intrapersonal skills which will allow them to experience success in their academic journeys. Having observed most students in their exams at some point over the week, I want to express my congratulations to every Year 10 student for their engagement, participation and efforts during this time.

Students will gradually receive their results and feedback over the next few days. It is important to highlight that at Year 10 the curriculum is designed to gear students towards their VCE pathways. As a result the academic rigor and expectations have increased. Even if a student receives a disappointing result, please keep in mind that we all learn from our mistakes and to use this as an opportunity to build on the knowledge that has been acquired. Now is the time to learn and grow as individual learners.

A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new. Albert Einstein

Futures Week

Year 10 students are about to embark on their week-long Futures Week program that provides a plethora of opportunities to engage and reflect about their future pathways. Each day provides our students with something different to think about and challenges them in unique ways. Students will receive a comprehensive booklet with all of the information they need, as well as a digital version that they can access via our shared Google Classroom.

Congratulations to all Year 10 students for a wonderful first Semester. I wish you all a restful, safe and relaxing holiday break and I look forward to seeing you all in Term 3.
