MACSSIS
Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) are a set of tools for creating, collecting, analysing, interpreting and using data to inform Catholic school improvement. MACSSIS produces perception data – what different people in a school community think and feel about their learning environment.
This year, the MACSSIS will take place in the period Monday 2 September to Friday 20 September. This survey gathers feedback about schools from all members of the school community – students, school staff (teaching and non-teaching staff), parents and guardians.
This survey is a valuable tool for Kilbreda College to gather data to focus on areas of growth and school improvement.
Survey questions cover several domains including:
- School Climate
- Student Voice
- Catholic Identity
- Communication
- Family Engagement
We look forward to receiving feedback from all members ( staff, students, parents and carers) of the Kilbreda College community.
Leadership Agency for Teachers
“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.”
John F. Kennedy
On Thursday 8 August the ‘Leadership Agency for Teachers’ workshops concluded. Staff from both St Bede’s College and Kilbreda College participated in the workshops facilitated by Aine Maher.
Aine is an accomplished presenter and skilled communicator with expertise and experience in secondary schools as both a teacher and senior leader. Throughout this year Aine led participants in four sessions exploring teacher leadership, understanding personal agency, conversations and change. Participants thoroughly enjoyed the workshops, each reflecting on their leadership qualities and areas for growth.
Aine’s sessions were insightful, enjoyable and enlightening. She helped us to identify and leverage our strengths through insightful questioning, constructive feedback and supportive mentoring. Aine assisted us with strategies to deal with challenging conversations and to develop our own leadership style. Each session was well planned, paced and structured.
Thank you Aine for your fantastic insights, engaging delivery, and the fun you brought to our sessions! Your real-life examples and the chance to connect made the learning experience incredibly valuable and enjoyable.
Aine encouraged us to identify our character strengths and personality compass. When we explore what point we align ourselves on the compass we can then develop a greater understanding of how to work with and empower others. Aine emphasised that no one direction is better than another, they’re just different.
The sessions were a wonderful way to connect and learn with others and develop our leadership agency to ultimately enhance the student learning and outcomes at the College.
