Mathematics
As we approach the end of another school term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey our students have embarked upon in mathematics. It has been a year of growth, challenge, and triumph, and all students should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.
Firstly, I want to congratulate our Year 12 students for a fabulous five years and three terms of work. Whether you tackled Foundation Maths, General Maths, or Maths Methods, your dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. The level of engagement and enthusiasm you’ve brought to your studies is highly commended. From your innovative approaches to problem-solving to your resilience in the face of challenging concepts, you have all demonstrated a commitment to excellence that deserves to be celebrated.
As our Year 12s move towards exam preparation, I want to remind them of the importance of developing some great study tips.
- Organise Your Study Space: Ensure your study area is tidy and free from distractions. A well-organised space can help you focus better and work more efficiently.
- Create a Study Schedule: Plan your study sessions in advance and stick to a consistent routine. Allocate specific times for different topics and stick to your schedule as closely as possible.
- Practise Past Papers: Familiarise yourself with the exam format and question styles by working through past papers. This will help you manage your time during the actual exam and reduce any anxiety.
- Seek Help When Needed: Don’t hesitate to reach out to your teachers or peers if you’re struggling with a concept. Forming study groups can also be a great way to clarify doubts and gain new insights. Remember, Hour of Power is available with Mr Reidy every Day 1.
- Take Care of Yourself: Balance your study with relaxation and self-care. Ensure you get enough rest, eat well, and take breaks to keep your mind fresh and focused.
As we move towards the end of the year, I want you all to take a moment to acknowledge your hard work and achievements. Each of you has navigated a challenging curriculum with determination and resilience. Remember, success in mathematics isn’t just about the final grades; it’s about the skills you’ve developed and the perseverance you’ve shown. Be proud of yourselves for every challenge you’ve overcome and every concept you’ve mastered.
Congratulations once again class of 2024, and best of luck in your final exams and beyond.
