In 2025 Kilbreda is focusing on the core value of ‘Hospitality’. The Kilbreda College Library creates a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for every patron; be that staff member, student from Kilbreda College, or visitors from the wider community. Hospitality is the key to our Library environment for everybody, everyday, providing support, learning, resources and wonderful spaces.

As we commence 2025, VCE students are reminded that they have a silent study room at their disposal and also current 2025 physical and online support resources from ATARNotes+ and NEAP notes relevant to their subjects. Students can see the friendly Library staff for more details.

Opening hours for our College Library are Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 5.00pm and Fridays from 8.00am to 4.00pm. Students can take advantage of homework and catch-up clubs, supported by College staff and teachers as well as engage in independent study.

The Library has already welcomed special visitors in 2025, including our incredible ‘Big Sisters’ from 2024, who have supported our Years 7, 8 and 9s in the importance of reading, the creative students helping us with displays, as well as our industrious students completing their Duke of Edinburgh Award Community Service. On behalf of our Library team, Mr Pearson and Ms Albrecht, I congratulate and thank these wonderful students and alumni students for their involvement and work in the Library in Term1.

The Kilbreda College Library will also host authors and performers for Years 7,8 and 9 later in Terms 2 and 3, where students will be involved in an immersive Indigenous cultural experience. Stay tuned for more information to come!

Our two major celebrations for Term 1 feature literature to recognise International Women’s Day on 8 March and the Library looks forward to extending our hospitality to all visitors on Open Day on Saturday 29 March.
