Year 7 Swimming Program.

Late in Term 2 students headed to Mentone Girls Grammar as part of the Year 7 Swimming Program. Sessions covered the Victorian Water Safety Certificate, teaching students essential survival skills, stroke techniques, and the ability to assess risks associated with different aquatic environments.

The Year 7 students thoroughly enjoyed the swimming program with participation soaring. Their enthusiasm and excitement was palpable as they embraced the water. It was awesome to witness their progress.

A huge thankyou to parents for their encouragement of the students. It’s wonderful to have the community value this vitally important skill. A whopping 128 students did enough to be awarded the certificate.

Year 10 Gym sessions

Year 10 students had a hectic period towards the end of the semester, juggling exams and Futures Week. To help them unwind and relieve stress, the PE department organized exercise sessions, including guided sessions of Body Pump, Body Balance, Spin, and, for a lucky few, Zumba at South Pacific Gym in Mentone. The students took part in these sessions with great enthusiasm. Their enjoyment helped make the exercise sessions a great success in promoting their overall well-being.

Upcoming Events

During PE the Year 8s will be “bringing it on” this term, in a group of Cheerleading incursions.

Meanwhile, Year 9 students will be channeling their inner “Karate Kid” during self-defense incursions.

The Year 7s have begun the hugely exciting dance unit which will conclude with their Dance Assessment.
