Creative Writing Competition
During Term 2, our Year 12 English Leaders, Liana Kalpakoff and Mackenzie Galea led our annual creative writing competition.
Students from all year levels were invited to submit entries in response to the competition prompt: ‘Don’t you know who I am?’
We were delighted by the level of interest and excitement generated and it was a challenging task to select winners for the Junior and Senior categories. Liana and Mackenzie read some wonderful poems and short stories and, after much contemplation, the following award winners were announced:
Senior Category
Place | Title | Student | Year Level |
First | She | Sophie Hollier | 11 |
Second | A Biblical Bath | Charlotte Maclean | 10 |
Third | Don’t You Know Who I Am? | Phoebe O’Toole | 10 |
Junior Category
Place | Title | Student | Year Level |
First | Tone Deaf | Lauren Vong | 9 |
Second | Bobo-Fluffy-Pants | Rhiannan Marie-Jeanne | 9 |
Third | A New Hero | Lucy Glynn | 7 |
The talented winners received vouchers to spend at Dymocks to continue their reading journeys. We hope they enjoy choosing and enjoying new books to read for further inspiration.
We thank and congratulate everyone who submitted an entry into the competition. It is fantastic to witness so much creative expression and we encourage all students to keep writing and we look forward to seeing more great entries next year!
