English
As the academic year draws to an end, we reflect on another dynamic year within the English faculty. Teachers across all year levels have focused on building core literacy skills and have been working collaboratively to develop curriculum that fosters confidence and independence in students.
As the Semester 2 examinations approach, it is important that students learn to take ownership of their learning and plan effectively for the revision and study that will help them to evaluate their learning in this academic year and to identify their next steps as they move into Headstart and embrace the next challenges.
The summer break ahead also provides a wonderful opportunity to engage in reading for pleasure, and also to read the set texts for 2025. We encourage all students to visit the library and take advantage of the wonderful array of books they can borrow. Senior students should also check out the VCE resources and the wonderful English ‘libguides’ that Mr Pearson so kindly creates to support students with their studies.
We wish all students every success with their examinations, and we look forward to an impressive set of results and renewed energy as we move into the Headstart period.
