Creative Arts, Design and Technologies

2024 Visual Arts, Design and Technologies Exhibition

On Thursday 10 October our annual Visual Arts, Design and Technologies Exhibition was held. Our students shone when they showcased their diverse talents through various mediums. Hundreds of fellow students, family, friends and staff filled the Mary Dalton Hall to witness the incredible creativity and talent on display. The 2024 Exhibition featured the exceptional work of our visual arts, visual communication design, food technology, textiles and media students. Viewers were captivated by the thoughtfulness behind each piece, and the descriptive stories that accompanied the work provided insight into the artists’ initial thought process through to the final pieces that we saw.

The Media students captured everyone’s attention with their visually stunning photography and thought-provoking short films, showcasing not only their technical skills but also their ability to tell compelling stories through imagery.

The Art students, from all year levels, presented a diverse range of works inspired by their studies of influential artists, as well as personal themes and areas of exploration. Their creativity and boldness in tackling various mediums and concepts offered insight into their unique perspectives.

Our Visual Communication Design students showcased their brands and logos they had developed for their imagined businesses. Their work demonstrated a deep understanding of creativity in branding, and a clear connection between visual aesthetics and effective communication.

A highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the fashion parade, where 86 students confidently took to the runway as either designers or models. The atmosphere was electric, filled with applause and genuine support, embodying the strong sense of community that thrives here at Kilbreda.

Year 10 students had the opportunity to display their corsets, drawing inspiration from both historical and modern influences. Year 11 students, as part of their Units 1 and 2 Product Design and Technologies studies, showcased their sustainable evening wear garments and collaborative garments which highlighted styles from decades spanning the 1880s to the 1980s.

Year 12 students, in their final Units 3 and 4, proudly exhibited their garments, which they researched, planned, designed and produced. These garments were crafted to meet the specific needs of individuals, incorporating elements of sustainability, ethics, and inclusivity.

We congratulate all our creative students and the dedicated Visual Arts and Design and Technologies teams for curating yet another unforgettable exhibition.

A special thank you to our wonderful Year 12 Visual Arts and Design and Technologies leaders, Hannah, Elizabeth, Caitlin and Lucy. They have displayed dedication and commitment in carrying out their roles this year. Their hard work and passion have truly made a difference and been appreciated. We wish all students the best for their exams.
