Recently, we were thrilled to initiate our LitSTEM partnership with Grade 4 students from St Brigid’s Primary School Mordialloc. These young learners will be visiting our College for an additional three sessions every fortnight, where they will get hands-on experience with Science in a laboratory and engage in practical learning. Facilitated by Ms Tanner, Ms Brooks, Ms Crawford and three of our students, in upcoming sessions the budding scientists will learn about the production of hydrogen gas, carbon dioxide and the principles of filtration and evaporation through a series of safe and immersive experiments. Their first session focused on the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide, as they prepared their own ‘Elephant’s Toothpaste’. The level of commitment demonstrated by the Grade 4 students was incredible and we look forward to building the relationship further in the weeks to come.
