Last week we celebrated Languages Week, a week full of fun and trying something new! We offer three languages at the College, French, Italian and Japanese. We view learning a language as the gateway to becoming better global citizens with a broader understanding of the world, its people and cultures. Learning a language enhances our students’ literacy and cognitive development using analytical and higher order thinking skills and provides a context for critical thinking, collaborative learning, problem solving and decision making. During the week, Learning Leader: Languages, Giovanni Di Fabrizio and his team organised a variety of immersive experiences including French Breakfasts, Italian Dancing, International Movie Screenings, Italian Cooking, a Crepe Van, Soccer Tournament, Space Invader competition and a Manga Drawing Lesson with artist, Kenny Chan. We thank the Languages team for providing these opportunities for our students to enjoy.
