Multi-Purpose Sports Area
Updated in May 2022, our new Multi-Purpose Sports Area includes netball, hockey, volleyball, softball and korfball courts/pitches and a long-jump pit.
Pro-Synthetic Bounce Courts
Four courts feature a pro-synthetic surface, enabling many sports to be played on them in various weather conditions.
Oval
A large recreational space for gathering and physical activity, with many shaded spaces for students to connect with others.
Brigid's Place
Inspired by Indigenous sculptures, this beautiful space is seen as a functional, artistic space, used for gatherings, ceremonies and connection to the land.
Kildare Centre
A purpose-built learning area that features a number of flexible learning spaces designed to support inquiry-based learning.
Auditorium
Our 400 seat auditorium is used for theatrical and musical performances, Dance, Drama, Music and Theatre Studies classes and for seminars and presentations.
Design and Technologies
Our two Textiles Rooms enable students from Years 7 to 12 to focus on their creativity and design skills within our Textiles and Product Design and Technology classes.
Creative Arts
Students have the opportunity to study subjects in the Creative Arts Learning Area from Years 7 to 12. Each year, the College has an annual Art and Design Exhibition featuring a Fashion Parade, which showcases students’ talents.
Year 8
All year levels are located within hubs around the College, with the Year Level Leader in close proximity to the year level classrooms.
Languages Hub
At the College, we offer Italian, Japanese or French. In Year 7, students choose two of the three languages to try. From Year 8, students choose one to continue learning.
Flagpole Courtyard
A gathering space for commemorative ceremonies, religious services, performances and socialisation.
St Brigid's Chapel
Social justice is a significant feature of the College and the student-led Living Justice group meet regularly in the Chapel.
Administration
Includes our Visitor and Student Receptions and First Aid area. Conveniently located across from the Mentone Station.
NB: This area is currently under renovation and will open mid-March. Entry is currently located via Gate 4.
Tower
Our iconic landmark building commenced life as the Mentone Coffee Palace. The buildings were purchased by the Brigidine Sisters in 1904, which enabled the establishment of a new school for Bayside Melbourne.
Library
The Library holds a central place in the life of the College, where students can come together. The Careers Resource Centre is also located in the Library.
Year 7
Most Year 7 subjects take place in their Homeroom, situated in a dedicated Year 7 area. A range of supportive programs are offered to strengthen and develop relationships with peers and teachers.
Canteen
Our Canteen provides service at breakfast, recess and lunch. It offers a wide range of healthy and nutritious food that caters for various dietary requirements.
Science
Science is a core subject from Years 7 to 10. Students in Years 10 to 12 can elect to study Biology, Chemistry, Psychology or Physics.
Circuit Room
Physical Education is a core subject from Years 7 to 10. Students in Year 11 and 12 have the opportunity of studying Physical Education as part of their VCE program.
STEM
There are many subjects throughout our Mathematics, Science and Digital Technologies Learning Areas, where our students can develop their STEM knowledge further. We also offer a number of co-curricular activities to learn first-hand what it is like to create something extraordinary in our contemporary world.
Atrium / VCE VM
Our Atrium is an enclosed space for our Year 12 students to shelter from the elements and features a dedicated kitchen.
Our VCE VM (formerly known as VCAL) area, services students undertaking VCE VM in Year 11 or 12 who participate in this more practical program, while still achieving a senior qualification at the end of six years of secondary schooling.
Colonnade
Built in 1928, our Colonnade is home to our Year 12 classrooms.
Wellbeing Centre
This calming space has been specifically designed to meet the wellbeing needs of all students and reflects our commitment to developing students who are physically, mentally and emotionally healthy.
Mary Dalton Hall
Our main building for gathering as a community, the Hall facilitates many College events including Masses, assemblies, performances, dinners, exhibitions and Physical Education classes.
Food Technology
Students from Years 8 to 12 have the opportunity to study Food Technology. Our specifically designed, industrial kitchen also services our VET Hospitality students.
Music School / Band Room
Our extensive Instrumental Music Program provides private and small group music tuition with highly experienced musicians. Students can also participate in bands, orchestras, ensembles and choirs.
Mentone Beach
We are blessed to be within walking distance of Mentone Beach. The beach is used for Physical Education classes, Year 8 Lifesaving, our Foreshore Sustainability program and more!
