The College’s Performing Arts Department invites you to be a part of our upcoming production of 42nd Street. This is an amazing opportunity for experienced and passionate musicians, to join the team and be part of the Production Band.

The production will run from 8 to 19 August, with rehearsals to commence from Sunday 18 May. The rehearsals will be held mainly on Sundays. The call rate on offer is $100 per rehearsal/show, with a total of 10 shows to be performed.

We are very excited about this show and look forward to creating some amazing music and memories!

Key Responsibilities

  • Rehearse and prepare instrumental parts for the show 42nd Street
  • Punctual attendance at rehearsals and shows
  • Communicate, collaborate with and positively support the Music Director
  • Work with student band members to encourage their participation

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Qualifications or high level experience as a performing musician on your instrument
  • Proficient sight-reading of notation
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Willingness to assist with management of sheet music and organisation of equipment
  • Recognised teaching qualifications with current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or Working with Children Check (employee)
  • Experience in an educational environment (advantageous)
  • A strong commitment to teamwork and working collaboratively with others
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and an understanding of the importance of charism and spiritual tradition in the life of an order-owned Catholic school
  • A commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children

You will be engaged as an Independent Contractor for this period and will therefore need to have a current ABN, and it is highly recommended that you also have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
