Harmony Day Celebrations

To enhance connectedness within our community our Year 12 Leadership Team and Middle School Leaders prepared a wonderful event to celebrate Harmony Day. Harmony Day recognises Australia’s cultural diversity and promotes inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging, which align perfectly with our College values.

The Mary Dalton Hall was bathed in orange and ribbons were proudly worn by staff and students, signifying freedom of ideas and meaningful conversation. Based around the theme ‘Everyone Belongs’, the event featured a number of performances by the students, including a mix of passionate dance routines and songs. Moving speeches inspired the audience, one in particular, a personal account shared by Grace who recounted her personal journey migrating to Australia.

Alter witnessing the talent and courage of our students that represent a number of different cultures, the message we were left to reflect on was, ‘if we can all bond together and develop mutual care and respect for each other, we can live Harmony Day throughout our everyday lives’.
