Laudato Si’ is an encyclical by Pope Francis addressing the social and ecological crisis in the world today. To promote its goals for social and environmental justice, last week we celebrated Laudato Si’ Week with various events. On Monday, we had a Q&A on ‘Ecological Spirituality’ with Catholic Earthcare. Tuesday’s focus on ‘Response to the Cry of the Earth’ involved students building bee hotels. Wednesday emphasised the ‘Adoption of Sustainable Lifestyles’ with a rubbish sorting race. On Thursday, for ‘Response to the Cry of the Poor’, we screened “The Lorax” to highlight the dangers of greed and environmental destruction and Friday’s goal focused on “Ecological Education” with a fun ‘Kahoot’.
