Ensemble Immersion Program
Recently, all students in our Ensemble Immersion Program were invited to our Music Retreat at the Kingston Arts Centre. This exceptional venue provided the perfect backdrop for an intensive yet encouraging setting focused on skill development. The retreat included various rehearsal sessions, some led by notable industry professionals including Mark Puddy, resident composer and arranger for the Australian Girls Choir and Dr Andrew Mathers, Musical Director of the Southern Area Concert Band. A highlight was the massed rehearsal involving all instruments and vocalists, preparing for our upcoming “Music By Candlelight” concert on 5 June. During the Retreat, students also had a chance to showcase their talents during the Kilbreda Festival Heat and participated in an Open Rehearsal. During this session, parents were not only observers but also engaged with techniques and strategies. To end the Retreat, all participants enjoyed a game of tenpin bowling, which further enhanced team spirit within our music community. We thank all of the teachers, tutors and support staff who made this enriching experience possible.
