National Reconciliation Week
In honour of National Reconciliation Week, all students and staff gathered for a moving liturgy this morning. Acknowledging the 2023 theme of “Be a Voice for Generations”, the liturgy encouraged our students to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways in our everyday lives and to act today for a more just, equitable and reconciled country for all. Sisters Daisy and Eliza, from the Barkindji tribe and Elizabeth from the Wotjobaluk tribe, led the prayers and reflections and the service began and concluded with a beautiful rendition of “I Am Australian” sung by our choir.
May we reflect this week on our First Nations people and pray:
“Lord, we pray for Reconciliation;
that the wrongs of the past may be recognised, that our awareness of the journey so far be awakened, and that the Spirit move us to walk the talk and see through what has been started.”
