Top Class Excursion
On Tuesday 24 February our Year 10, 11 and 12 Dance students attended Top Class to see the high-scoring dance solos from the Units 3 and 4 cohort of 2024. We travelled to the Melbourne Recital Centre to see a program of inventive and accomplished solo dance works, Skills Solo’s from Unit 3 and Cohesive Composition Solos from Unit 4.
Our students’ experiences reflect an excellent day. The excursion will help them focus on their solo creations in the weeks ahead.
Student Reflection
Top Class 2025 was an inspiring experience, showcasing the incredible talent and creativity of VCE and VCE VET dance students. While watching the performances, each dancer’s music choice deeply resonated with their intentions and movements, making every piece unique. Seeing such a diverse range of styles and interpretations was not only engaging but also valuable to understand we are all different and excellent in unique ways. It highlighted what the assessors are looking for in the solos, which is the importance of musicality, expression, clear intentions and dividing sections within the routine. Attending Top Class left us all motivated and excited for our own solos.
