Level Crossing Removal Project
Please see information in relation to the upcoming Level crossing removal works across October and November.
On the PTV site below, there is a better description of the train disruptions and replacement services.
This brochure below has a great map detailing how the ‘express and stopping all station’ buses will operate.
For the majority of the school days, students travelling from the southern part of the line will need to board a bus and travel to Chelsea station, where they will need to change to a ‘stopping all stations’ bus to Mentone and the reverse in the afternoons to get home. Coming from the city end, they will need to catch a ‘stopping all stations’ bus from Cheltenham.
Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November
On Thursday 2 and Friday 3 November, the train line will be closed from Moorabbin to Frankston. Students will need to ensure they are on the appropriate limited expresses, to then swap to a ‘stopping all stations’ bus at Chelsea or Mordialloc if coming from the south and on the appropriate ‘stopping all stations’ bus if coming from the city.
Parkdale Station Closing
Parkdale station will be closed from 21 October until mid-2024 (likely August 2024 at this stage).
Until 3 November, the train replacement buses will be operating.
After this date, a shuttle bus will operate between Mentone, Parkdale and Mordialloc stations to connect anyone needing to access Parkdale station with the trains and obviously to school.
Trains from 4 November will be running, just not stopping at Parkdale Station, as it won’t exist until the new rail bridge opens.
