Year 10
As we draw to the close of another term, this term has once again been an extremely busy one for all of those in Year 10. While everyone is counting down to holidays there are still some exciting events to take place!
Physical Activity
Some Year 10 students completed a task as part of the Semester 1 Health unit on encouraging participation in physical activity – making changes. This gave them the opportunity to look at ways in how doing any sort of physical activity could promote healthy habits and make positive mental health changes. As a result of this, and in conjunction with the PE department, it was decided to offer one activity every Thursday until the end of the term.
These optional sessions were promoted with the aim of participation in mind and not just about being the best.
Week 1 – Volleyball
Week 2 – Mat Ball
Week 3 – Just Dance
Week 4 – Yoga / Mediation
To those who attended, canteen vouchers were offered as spot prizes. This was acknowledging students who were willing to give up their lunchtimes and just have a go. Congratulations to those students who participated and to Ms Clark for bringing this idea to fruition.
Brigidine Day
The final, but most important upcoming activity is Brigidine Day. The cohort have been practising their dance moves for the all important Lip-Sync Battle and organising their costumes to reflect the theme of ‘2000s’. I am sure that wardrobes and op shops have been raided in anticipation of the fun way in which we finish Term 3.
Ms Baddeley will be back from long service leave in Term 4 and will resume her role of Level Leader: Year 10. I wish her all the best for her return and am sure she will have lots of stories to tell and be relaxed and refreshed.
Thank you to all the staff who have supported me while stepping up into the role for this term and to all the Year 10 students who have assisted me whenever I have put the call out for help and been so welcoming. It has been an absolute pleasure!
