Chloe  -  Year 8

During my time at Kilbreda College I have made many friends. I’ve cherished a lot of life changing experiences and I’ve learnt a lot. Kilbreda College had presented me with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, such as:

Sport – netball, basketball, hockey, softball, volleyball, soccer, tennis and cross country.

Music – instrumental lessons, junior band and symphonic band, choir and the chance to perform at Mentone RSL on Remembrance Day.

Academics – Language Perfect Championships, public speaking competition, science competition, maths competition and Write a Book in a Day.

Foreshore was an insightful opportunity to learn about the native plants that grow along our beaches and coastal areas. It was not only an educational experience but we all had heaps of fun interacting with nature and weeding and planting new seedlings.” (Melanie)

High Resolves was a great program. We learnt some really useful leadership skills that we will carry with us for life. We learnt how to compromise with others so that everyone would be happy. At the end of High Resolves we presented our hard work to the Year 7s and 8s and we got a great response. All our hard work paid off.” (Sarah)

In Year 8 we also have the opportunity to become class captains, IT captains known as Tech Angels and a recently new captaincy position, middle school captains.

Another great thing about being in Year 8, is having the chance to go on camp. We go to Valley Homestead in Ovens Valley. It’s a camp for three days and two nights. The camp is based on trusting and bonding activities. It is one of my fondest memories of being a student at Kilbreda College so far. After camp I felt like I really knew my fellow peers better.
