One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching at Kilbreda College is the opportunity to work with girls who are constantly striving for excellence and who are encouraged to do so. Through the College’s Enhancement Program, students are given a framework with which to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to real world experiences.

This year, I was very fortunate to facilitate a group of students who entered the Consumer Affairs Victoria Film Fest, a state-wide competition in which students were required to produce a short film about consumer rights. The students involved in the project created a short film about consumer rights in the area of scams and false advertising. To their delight, they won first prize. Whilst winning the competition was an outstanding achievement for the students, it also validates Kilbreda College’s strong belief in the importance of creating opportunities to apply their learning outside the classroom.
